Faculty choreographing New Jersey Theatre

Our very own lyrical faculty member, Lauren Gaul, is now the resident choreographer of a children's theatre in New Jersey for their 2008 Summer Season! When you take her class you can ask her all about it!

What a workshop! The participants all had a wonderful learning experience...EXCEPT....the four Saginaw High School theatre arts students who were hired by Summyr Whaley to set up and run the stage/sound/lighting systems for "8&a1." Here's what they learned: after the workshop concluded they were paid less than half the agreed upon amount by Ms. Whaley. She then stopped payment on the checks she wrote. The students not only remain unpaid but each incurred a $25.00 service fee levied by their banks. Meanwhile, Ms. Whaley has pocketed an extra $1200.00. Ask these students what they learned about the New York Rockettes dance experience and they got a lesson about DECEIPT, FRAUD, and how the dance industry neglected to teach Ms. Whaley about ethical and legal business practices.
